Whimsical & Romantic: Azi & David’s Wedding at The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort | Longboat Key, Florida

The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort in Longboat Key, Florida provided the perfect backdrop for Azi and David’s whimsical, romantic celebration overlooking the Gulf Coast. Inspired by a palette of white, ivory, light pink, light mauve, and lush greenery, every detail reflected the couple’s vision of a timeless yet modern wedding. After eight years together, their celebration beautifully honored both their love story and the family and friends who had supported them through every stage of life. They intentionally designed a weekend that felt completely authentic to who they are while creating meaningful experiences for every guest. The result was an elegant coastal wedding that seamlessly blended classic romance with heartfelt personal traditions.

Their day began with a traditional American Ceremony on the Great Lawn, where a violin and cello duo created an unforgettable soundtrack as guests gathered beneath the Florida sunshine. The waterfront setting perfectly complemented the romantic floral design and soft color palette, creating an effortlessly elegant atmosphere. Following the American Ceremony, guests made their way to the Resort Lawn for the couple’s beautiful Persian Ceremony, known as the Sofreh Aghd, which celebrated Azi’s Persian heritage in a meaningful and deeply personal way. The incorporation of both ceremonies allowed the couple to honor their backgrounds while sharing each tradition with loved ones. As Azi shared, one of the most special parts of the day was having everyone they loved together in one place, making every moment feel incredibly meaningful.

Cocktail Hour continued on the Resort Lawn where guests enjoyed signature entertainment provided by Curate Entertainment’s DJ while soaking in the beautiful coastal surroundings. Lounge furniture from Palacios Events created inviting spaces for guests to relax and mingle before the evening festivities began. Amanda Fye Designs elevated every guest experience with beautifully crafted custom welcome signage, seating chart installations, ceremony programs, bar signage, table numbers, menus, and place cards that tied the entire design together. Every carefully selected detail reflected the couple’s desire to create a celebration that felt entirely unique to them while making every guest feel welcomed throughout the weekend.

The Reception moved into the Astor Ballroom where romantic textures and elegant décor transformed the space into an unforgettable celebration. Natural Louis Chairs, a light wood dance floor, custom staging for the entertainment from Palacios Events complemented the ballroom’s refined atmosphere. Specialty linens and napkins from BBJ La Tavola added another layer of texture and sophistication. Guests enjoyed an incredible evening of entertainment featuring a three-piece fusion band alongside a DJ, live saxophonist, and drummer, creating nonstop energy throughout the night. Personal touches made the celebration even more memorable, including an assortment of traditional Persian desserts, a Pittsburgh Cookie Table honoring the couple’s roots, and late-night favorites featuring Chicago dogs alongside chicken fingers and fries. Every element was thoughtfully chosen to reflect both their personalities and the places that shaped their relationship.

Looking back, Azi describes the day as the best day of her life, sharing that experiencing every carefully planned moment alongside the people she loves was simply surreal. From getting ready through the final dance, every part of the celebration exceeded everything they had imagined. Their journey began years earlier when they met during spring break in Toronto after their two friend groups unexpectedly connected, and David later proposed at one of their favorite picnic spots overlooking Lake Michigan. Their wedding was a beautiful reflection of that story, filled with intentional details, meaningful traditions, and unforgettable memories. Their advice to future couples is simple: stay calm, trust the process, and remember that the moments shared with the people you love will always matter most.
