Katie & Kyle’s wedding at The Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida, was a joyful, whimsical garden party filled with vibrant color, meaningful moments, and so much love. Set against the historic charm of the estate and the sparkle of Sarasota Bay, their day unfolded with cheerful energy and personal touches at every turn. “Everything about it was perfect,” Katie shared. “The whole day was a feeling that was truly indescribable.” With a romantic palette of pink, yellow, orange, periwinkle, and magenta, the couple brought their vision of a lighthearted garden celebration to life in the most beautiful way.

The couple met in Tallahassee at a Florida State basketball game while Katie was in grad school—though technically, they had crossed paths at a party beforehand! After five years together, Kyle proposed during their anniversary trip to Switzerland, setting the tone for a lifetime of adventure and celebration. When it came time to plan their wedding, they knew exactly what mattered most: “The obvious one—having our loved ones in attendance,” Katie said. “Aside from that, the décor and florals. I work in events and love a good floral arrangement and tablescape.”

Their Ceremony on the estate terrace was framed by bright, playful blooms from Arms of Persephone, with the water glistening just beyond. A moment during the Ceremony became an instant favorite: “Our officiant told us to take a moment and look out at everyone for a mental picture,” Katie shared. “Seeing all of our friends and family from both of our lives come together was so special.” Following the Ceremony, guests moved to the pavilion for Cocktail Hour, where they were greeted with signature drinks—an Old Fashioned and crowd-favorite Espresso Martini—and views of the gorgeous bay.

As the sun set, the celebration transitioned to an open-air reception on the lawn, where Affairs in the Air transformed the space with romantic lighting draped across the reception space. The couple’s vision for an unforgettable dinner experience came to life with an elegant head table, whimsical linens, and a lush floral-filled design. “I was so blown away to see all of the décor and florals pulled together,” Katie said. “It was better than I could’ve imagined!” Personal touches like a custom mirror seating chart and an audio guestbook added warmth and personality to the night.

One of Katie’s favorite moments was simply seeing everyone gathered together: “It’s truly an honor to have everyone you care about in one place to celebrate your love.” The evening continued with heartfelt toasts, and a packed dance floor courtesy of Graingertainment. Looking back, the couple agrees they wouldn’t change a thing: “My husband and I frequently talk about how we wish we could relive that day.” Their advice to other couples? “Hire a planner—1000%—and a videographer!” Katie added. “We were a lot less stressed than if I had planned our wedding myself.”
