Haylee and David’s wedding at The Resort at Longboat Key Club on Longboat Key, Florida, was a dream blend of coastal elegance and whimsical garden charm. With a soft palette of blues and whites accented by greenery and neutral tones, their celebration was elevated yet effortless—exactly the aesthetic they envisioned when planning from their home state of Kentucky. The couple chose this waterfront Longboat Key venue for its natural beauty and lawn Ceremony space, allowing them to embrace the Florida vibes they loved without saying “I do” in the sand. “We always wanted a coastal wedding but not necessarily in the sand,” Haylee shared. “We loved how they had a lawn space that still incorporated the water and Florida vibes.”
The Ceremony took place beneath the sweeping branches of a majestic banyan tree on the Lagoon Lawn. This natural setting created a serene, romantic atmosphere for their vows, surrounded by florals from Victoria Blooms that echoed the soft coastal tones. The couple wanted the day to be about more than just aesthetics—they prioritized a smooth, stress-free experience, and that intention was reflected in every detail. “Everything went perfectly on our wedding day!” Haylee said. “The timeline went smoothly, and if there were any hiccups, I wasn’t aware of them. I was able to focus on the day and spend time with my family and friends before the Ceremony.”
Cocktail Hour flowed seamlessly under a canopy of string lights, where guests gathered on the lawn as the sun began to set. The centerpiece of this space was a large, sculptural white circular bar that quickly became a guest favorite. It was both functional and beautiful, acting as a visual focal point while bringing everyone together. “We were blown away when we saw the Ceremony and Reception space,” Haylee said. “It was exactly how I pictured it, and I was so happy to see it come to life.”
Dinner and dancing took place under an elegant sailcloth tent, where thoughtful design elevated the entire experience. A white and light wood checkered dance floor added a playful but polished element to the space, while rattan lanterns wrapped in greenery swayed gently above. Rentals from Palacios and Treasury Rentals, along with linens from BBJ La Tavola and textured arrangements from Victoria Blooms, brought depth and dimension to the tented Reception. “It was our favorite day, and we will remember it forever,” said Haylee.
With music by Phase5 Band setting the tone, the night unfolded into a joyful celebration filled with energy, laughter, and love. For Haylee and David, having a local planning team was key to making the experience feel seamless from start to finish. “Since we are from Kentucky, it was important to us to have someone local to the area who understood my vision, could give ideas and vendor recommendations, and help bring all the details together,” Haylee said. To future couples she recommends, “Don’t over worry about the small things—it will all come together with a great planner!”
From the iconic banyan tree Ceremony to the coastal-chic tented Reception, Haylee and David’s wedding was a masterclass in combining timeless style with personal touches. It was a day full of heart, surrounded by the people they love, and set against one of the most scenic backdrops on Florida’s west coast.
